Nave Riachuelo

Object built for the release movie of Riachuelo’s new collection, signed by Karl Lagerfeld. The structure mimics the interior of the Niterói Museum of Contemporary Art (MAC Niterói). In the video, the building of Oscar Niemeyer is actually a spaceship, which brings this new fashion from Paris to Brazil.

From the original designs of MAC Niterói, this spaceship was designed in detail using 3D CAD / CAM software, adapting it to joinery. From small mock-ups to full-size pieces, we were able to prototype it’s whole structure.With intelligent fittings, this structure can be assembled and disassembled in a few hours. All parts were designed and milled in a CNC router. Starting from a good nesting, we used the less amount of material it was possible. In this way, we achieved an economical, fast, precise, clean and silent assembly.

After filming, the spaceship was disassembled and re-installed in 2016 São Paulo Fashion Week, for Karl Lagerfeld parade.

Objeto construído para o filme de lançamento da nova coleção da Riachuelo, assinada por Karl Lagerfeld. A estrutura mimetiza o interior do Museu de Arte Contemporânea de Niterói (MAC Niterói). No vídeo, o prédio de Oscar Niemeyer se transforma em uma nave espacial, que traz a nova coleção de Paris para o Brasil. A direção do filme foi feita pelo Ricardo Van Steen.

À partir dos desenhos originais do MAC Niterói, a Nave foi projetada detalhadamente em software 3D CAD/CAM, adaptando-a para a marcenaria. De pequenas maquetes à peças em em tamanho real, conseguimos prototipar previamente toda a estrutura.

Com encaixes inteligentes, a estrutura pôde ser montada e desmontada em poucas horas. Todas as peças foram projetadas e usinas em router CNC, à partir de um bom planejamento, gastando a menor quantidade possível de material. Dessa maneira, chegamos à uma montagem econômica, rápida, precisa, limpa e silenciosa.

Após a gravação, a Nave foi desmontada e re-instalada na SP Fashion Week 2016, para o desfile de lançamento da coleção Karl Lagerfeld no prédio da Bienal de São Paulo.
