Wooden torch built for a Virtual Reality game. In the game BELEAF, an immersive virtual reality experience from the company ARVORE, the player uses the torch to interact and make progress inside the game.
The challenge was to produce the torch exactly as it is in the virtual model, so the user had a real feeling of being inside the game by interacting with a real object that corresponds to the one in the virtual world. The integrity of the torch, its weight, aesthetics and finishing were also taken into account. Different woods were glued together and then machined on a CNC router, creating it’s final organic shape.

Tocha de madeira construída para um jogo de Realidade Virtual. No game BELEAF, uma experiência imersiva em realidade virtual da empresa ARVORE, o jogador usa a tocha para interagir com o cenário e progredir no jogo.
O desafio foi produzir a tocha exatamente como no modelo virtual, de forma que o usuário tivesse uma sensação verdadeira de estar dentro do jogo, ao interagir com um objeto real corresponde àquele no mundo virtual. A integridade da peça, seu peso, estética e acabamento também foram levados em consideração. Usando a técnica da marchetaria, diferentes madeiras foram coladas juntas e depois foram usinadas em uma fresadora CNC, criando sua forma orgânica final.
